DIY Matte Box

Post by vickersdc »

I've just finished making my matte box for my Canon 814XL Electronic. It allows me to put gels in front of the lens and provides additional shade from the sun.

The next stage is to build a handle that fits on the front rods and a shoulder mount at the back, thereby making the whole lot portable.

Cheers,
David.

Nice and well done.

If you put the frontgrip at the true front you are likely to need a sportsschool membership because holding up this contraption for more then 30 seconds if going to take an effort :)
Kind regards,

I did something like this coming from a Cokin filter holder and the plastic wrapper of drawings and a mounting bracket hand made in aluminum
