single8 R25N processing (how?)

Post by CineGuerrilha »

Hi All,

I am contemplating of getting a 'large' amount of Fujichrome R25N

I think this is an old fujichrome R25 with some additional rem-jet layer. Would you know if the film is dye incorporatade (not like kodachrome) so a similar E6 process could work? Would anyone have some info on the type of processing used? Maybe low temp like the agfachrome wit pre-hardner? Also, regarding the rem-jet, does the removal takes any additional steps? Is that like color neg rem jets? Many thanks and happy new year!

Hi,
I've processed the older R25 (not R25N) with E6.
If there was a black layer then it just came off in the processing.

I've never had too many problems with anti-halation layers.
(Maybe I've just been lucky!)
It has always been removed to some extent when I have processed the film.
The most I've had left on was when processing k40 as b&w neg, there was about 15% left on the film in patches.
I just used a cloth to wipe it off, after a 5min soak with some Fairy washing-up liquid.

You might need to reduce the 1st developing time as mine was little too light (and too blue).

Chris.
