S8 in London

Post by CHAS »

So I don't know if I'm going to have time to run down to Spectra and get some 64T or tri-X before I go to London this Saturday -- does anyone know where they sell it? I guess I should do some web searching...don't suppose Boots has it?

I'm not sure why people go to retail stores. You can call Kodak when you arrive or even beforehand. They will ship it quickly and and a lower cost than anyone else.

What part of London are you staying in?

There is also Stanley's on Wardour St, although it is cheaper there if you order online then collect from the shop than just turn up in person.

If you are over in East London then I'll sell you some stock Chas, just depends on whether or not it is convenient for you.

We're staying in the Kensington area...Gloucester Road / Queen's Gate Terrace. How far is that from you?

A long way compared to going to Stanley's or Widescreen!

Probably easiest for you to take the Underground and go to Stanleys I would have thought. Both the Piccadilly & Victoria lines (the 2 you would need to get to Oxford Circus) are pretty regular and reliable.

Don't forget to get an "Oyster Card" if you are planning to use public transport, they cost £3, but your journeys will be MUCH cheaper. If you can get one as soon as you land in Heathrow so much the better. It is easy to get to Gloucester Road from Heathrow by Underground.

Yeah, we're going to get a 7-day oyster card once we get to the tube station. Just like Hong Kong's "Octopus card," I guess...

Alright, well thanks for the info...

Well a lot of it will be touristy stuff since neither my wife nor I have been to the UK. I was hoping to get the Exploding Cinema to program a block of films I screened here in LA and they seemed interested at first but never heard back from them (guess they didn't like the films I sent! ).

We're going to do an overnight to Bath on Wednesday, theater on Friday, Royal Opera house on Saturday and then we leave Sunday morning, the 22nd.
