The Motion Picture Production Code of 1930

Post by Bjarne Eldhuset »

Reading this today was quite interesting:
http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5099

Today it seems one can break most of these rules. Actually, showing some countries' flags burning would probably cause more noise than showing explicite violence&sex.

Does anyone know if there is a "Motion Picture Production Code of ..... today"?

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts about this, comparisons between now and then and so on.

well no, there's no code of today in the US at least
it's been replaced by the MPAA

take a look at the documentary This Film Is Not Yet Rated if you're interested... really great film about censorship/ratings/etc.
