Haven't been able to determine exactly why I feel this way but everytime I'm reminded of kodachrome's end, I just get ill. For all the obvious and selfish reasons stated here many times before, losing it as a photographic and archival tool is, at the very least, regrettable. But its demise just seems to represent a whole lot more. The end of...something.

Yeah, but for me I remember it's emminent demise that was supposed to happen over ten years ago. I look at the extra years - thanks Kodak- as a gift and decided to look forward. The new Ektachrome 100D is a knock out for those who like to project. As far as archival qualities I will sorely miss Kodachrome, but my personal experiences with Ektachrome have been very good. I keep all my films in a cool and dry basement and the 20 to 30 year old Ektachrome films still look great without noticeable fading of colors.
