got 'new' Nizo... not sure if exposure is working
I got my Nizo 561 macro from super8camera-shop today...
Every thing seems fine on the outside.... and evrything seems to be corrosion free- the lens looks pretty damn clean´... the film transport seems to be running fine.... The battery check works for the AAs...
one thing though... if I have no batts in for the light meter, should I see something happen when I set the exposure control to manual????
... nothing is happening just now... the needle isn't anywhere to be seen - but it does move for the AA battery test) - I had no cart in the camera either btw...
I wanted to wait to see if I got a box of bits and pieces through the post before I ordered the wiencells (they aint cheap up here)... and if the whole exposure system isn't working I don't really want to waste the money....
I hope I'm just being stupid cause this is spoiling my day :?
cheers for any help on the matter

ok,
then you need to get two cells for the light meter.
Just remembered that My Nizo Pro works a bit differently to the 561Macro!
try
http://www.merzbarn.com
if you still have some contacts in the UK (You are from the UK aren't you?), ask them to visit Jessops or a local Camera shop for you, these cells are still available.
Guy is a very helpful chap, and he specialises in Nizos!
Enjoy your new baby! The 561Macro is a great piece of kit that will give you beautiful images!
Lycka Till!

whooho
Thanks for the advice Uncle Barry and Tears
I thought I'd got a duff camera (not for the first time)...
Now I can get back to stroking this handsome little beast..
BTW tears I'll try Merzbarn to see the price of their 1,35v pain in the arse cells...
jessops don't have any (only 1.5v version) on their site but I can ask my girlfriend to go into jessops n.oxford street (the big one) as she studies at St Martins... 2 minutes away.. . I could try Jessops Classic too since they have old meters and such.... '
I saw at B&h photo in the us they're only $3,95 but maybe getting stuff over from the US is a pain... maybe not I've never done it, guess I have to mail them...
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... 57&is=REG-
The only place I can find them here in Sweden is http://www.lpfoto.se and they cost SEK100 each!! :o
Hopefully the kind Frans de Gruijter will get a chance to make some new converters soon so I can use cheap as chips 1.5 silver oxides
thanks again for the advice

Hej Dan!
No problems!
Jessops aren't too Super 8 friendly, although they are the only high street store I have ever seen stock B&W as well as Colour Super 8 film!!! £11.99 over the counter for Plus-X and Tri-X!!!
Other Camera Shops are good for the Cells... even found some in my local TV repair shop, and he sold me the last 6 for £3!
I was luky enough to pick up loads of spare cells from WHSMITH last summer for 74 english pennies each.... what a scoop!
I would offer you some, but I have already donated some to fellow Nizo Users!
Good luck with your search!
All the best

I believe I was! WHSMITH were clearing them out... at 74p each.. probably because of the mercury content!
You may well find some out there somewhere!
You might get odd looks from some camera shops when you ask for two of these batteries... they usually only sell one for SLR cameras....
.... I last got some 6 months ago.... so the trail can't have gone cold yet!
best of luck!
