Film Cleaner

Post by srcbikes »

Whats the best film cleaner at a good,(low) price for cleaning super 8 film before having it scanned. I know that all labs do this before but I want to clean my films before editing out what I dont want scanned.

We use Isopropanol both in our Excel 1100 filmcleaner and for handcleaning. This solvent is easy to get most places. We use the "prima" (best) type.

See here for some info from Kodak:

I use Solvon from Urbanskifilm.com

I don't like Edwal. Solvon dries instantly, and is safe for all film and optical and magnetic sound tracks.
