developing b/w movie film using coffee and vitamin c

doesnt really say what stock this would apply to, but instant coffee and vitamin c powder was used to develop b/w film.

don't bother, likely the first concept of this bogus-idea was introduced in the first of april after the advent of X-tol.

I've looked into this a few times over the years. Short story is that if you are comfortable experimenting with developing your own movie film, and you have the equipment, then it's worth a try. You'll get "caffinol"-like results, which can vary but tend to have a coffee-colored cast to them, and tend to be pretty light and distressed looking.

But if you're just looking to cut costs and bypass the lab, you need to do some research on home developing and gear up for it. Some say it's easy. I'd say it's easy for some but for most, the lab is a godsend.

It does work but I think it takes more than just coffee and vitamin C. Actually just buying the B&W chemicals would be easier and they are not expensive. Getting it to be a positive image is more work though.
