:?: Hi Andreas!
recently I got a scanner with adf option and direct pdf output of multiple pages documents. This way it´s very easy to scan paper manuals. I just scanned an expensive repair manual for the Elmo GS 1200 MO, including all mechanical drawings, circuit diagrams, touble-shooting etc, about 100 pages and tried to upload it to ftp.filmshooting.com, using the ftp tool IXLA FTP MAX. But I could not succeed in establishing any connection to the given server, the specified name cannot be recognized.
Could you post more detailed instructions, how to perform the upload, perhaps even offer an appropriated upload program for downloading?
Pedro
how to upload manuals to filmshooting.com?

Hi Pedro!
Great to hear you've got a scanner. I have written some instructions how to upload manuals. Take a look on the link below and if you can't make it work, let me know!

Andreas,
I downloaded CuteFtp software and entered the ftp data exactly as given in your instruction.
But everytime I want to try to connect, CuteFTP shows me a warning message "CuteFTP can´t connect to the server...."
This seems to be the very same problem I had with my anterior ftp software.
Anterior to connecting, I had opened the internet and even loaded your homepage. Here I have a highspeed internet connection.
best regards,
Pedro

Hi,
Is ftp built into your computer?
Try this:
start
run
ftp
That should give you a new Dos screen.
It is the only one I use to upload things to this site.

Detailed help
Try opening this site with your webbrowser:
ftp://ftp.filmshooting.com - does it work? If not, are you behind a firewall that doesn't allow FTP traffic?
Otherwise try this (Windows):
-> Start
-> Run
[type] command (or cmd if NT/Win2000)
[type] ftp -A ftp.filmshooting.com
[type] dir (lists directories - you should see /pub /etc /tmp and /upload)
[type] cd upload (go to the upload directory)
[type] bin (for binary files)
[type] hash (to enable hash mark printing - useful to see what's going on!)
[type] put filename.zip (uploads filename.zip to /upload dir on the server)
[type] bye (exits)
This does work.
If you're still not connected I suspect a firewall is stopping you. The Shooting 8mm server is not behind a firewall, so it has to be on your side. If that's the case. Try in your CuteFTP to either enable PASSIVE mode or disable PASSIVE mode.
Keep on trying and let us know how it's going!
Cheers!
