Cine-X 100 is ASA 100 and still available. Cine-X is Kodak Plus-X. The cost at this time is $10.00/spool.

When I asked Wittner about this a while ago, they said the only reason they do not sell Foma R100 in S8 cartridges is that its harder to develop. Andec etc. do special runs for this, it does not fit into the standard bw reversal process.

Well, seems to be history now anyway. Sad.

Who loaded the carts for you?
Spectra Film in Burbank, CA. They charge alot fot this service, and along with the filmstock cost, I did not profit. Until I can start loading these myself I sell them at $18 US.
And as asked earlier, have you got a US lab recommendation?
I use Yale Film & Video in Burbank with great results. They have to leave it in the solution longer than Kodak or run it alone because of the high silver content. Martin Baumgarten (Plattsburg Film Services) is an option on the East Coast , although his turnaround is much longer.

I popped into Silverprint in London today and was told that Foma haven't given up on Fomapan - they have spoken to Foma - and that it will come back; however, it may take up to a year to get production going again...

I can wait...

I load my own cassettes with b/w Orwo film. The first one was a hustle but now I've got a system worked out it's no problem.
I've used Orwo UN54 and managed to get my hands on some out of date Orwo UN52 which comes out at 200 ISO, a really nice film.
I hope to get some Fomapan soon.
I have a Quarz DS8-3 camera so I buy the film in DS8 format and split it myself for super8 cassettes as well. Loading straight DS8 is easier of course. I have had a couple of cart jams but I've also had that with a Kodak 100D once.
I develop the films myself and the savings in cost are enormous. I use it for testing the various cameras I have. I also happen to like black & white but I haven't given up on Kodak 100D which I send off to be processed. I really like the colours but it is a bit expensive if I'm just doing exposure tests or the like.

well, that is bad news :( I was going to try to get some to run through my Quarz 2m. I went to the website of freestylephoto and their note said they were out until October. Like Irish rebels, it seems we'll be waiting for a ship that never arrives.

Hello!
Well it might look like it would come true: Fomapan in Super 8 cartridges. This is a link to Wittner's website: http://www.wittner-kinotechnik.de/neu/n ... 20111011-1

From what I understand Wittner is asking if there would be an interest to have Fomapan in Super 8 cartridges and they want replies from potential customers that would be willing to buy these cartridges. I therefor encourage everyone that would buy this product to write to Wittner and tell them that you'll be interested. I suppose you can write in English, can´t write in German myself.

And yes, Wittner again supplies Fomapan in 2x8mm, ds8, and 16 mm, and soon Super 8 I hope.

I liked that film on vimeo a lot - I wonder what it would look like coming from a big lab with pro telecine?
I'd be interested in trying out some fomapan if my local guys Alpha Cine could handle it.

Hello again,
As you all may know Foma started making their R100 again,so I started making Super 8mm custom load Super 8 R100 Cartridges again. Check them out on Ebay, and yes, I do ship to Europe. Here's the link!

This morning I received a Super 8 cartridge with Foma R100 film inside. I have bought one cartridge to Mosesfilm. I am very happy. I have received the cartridge quickly and in very good condition. Inside the box, there is a copy with instructions for development. And on one side of the box, there is a label with information about the labs. He has done a very professional job.

Thank you very much, Moses.
