Hi All,
just bought a porst mt2 sound s8 projector with a broken belt to do the magnetic sound recordings for my future 'releases'. Did not have much success in finding suppliers for new belts... Anyone has any idea if i can still find belts for the projector? Many thanks!
PS: btw, does anyone know why suddenly it appears that everybody is looking for sound projectors in ebay?

Re: porst sound mt2 belt
Do you still have the old belt? If you do, take it to someone who is dealing with drive belts and such, they should be able to find a belt close enough so it can replace the original drive belt.

Not sure if the old belt is there... just won the bidding
But even if not, I'll do the measurements when it arrives. Thanks for the tip!

Hi,
spare belts for that Porst are available in Germany at Belichtungszeit (11.90EUR), at Wittner (two different belts: one for the motor 17.85 EUR and one for the "friction" (=most likely the take up reel) 19.49 EUR), ... . (all prices incl. VAT, but without shipping)
US-based sources for belts:
http://www.super8stuff.com/belts.html
http://www.urbanskifilm.com/projectors.html
http://www.ebay.com/
BTW: When you can't find "Porst"-belts, you might want to look for "Yelco" (also known as "Yamawa"):
http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Porst_S ... _Projector
"Reported to be a relabeled version of the Yelco CABIN SOUND LSP 510 Projector. "

"same as Yelco LSP 511"
