film of mine up on vimeo

Post by richard p. t. »

Hello all,
I have loaded a few of my older super 8 films up on vimeo. Here is a link to one shot entirely on 64t. Its an abstract dance around a weed cactus.

Made me think of Carlos Casteneda when the Cacti went whirling around...

Will have to go and have a strong mug of milky tea after watching that!

Excellent richard--loved it. Thanks also for the bit of a historical background on the subject on the vimeo page. Really interesting. I also enjoyed "sluicing" and the sound design on "red rover" quite a bit!

Brilliant work here, Richard.

I just finished a video short called "Weed Killer" which I figure is a strangely odd coincidence! Also, my brother-in-law has often talked about how much he likes eating prickly pear!!!

The other films on Vimeo are also great, especially 'Champing'. Wow! Very impressed with the tension built up through editing here. Was the audio recorded via minidisc? And the title intro to 'Sparks' with the use of single-letter neon signs was very cool.

Can't wait to watch the rest.

Cheers,
Mark

Man, oh man!
what a trippy film.
on 64T??? You got some great colors out of that stock, my friend. I felt like I was watching a trippy acid film made in the 50s.
If I ever do another experimental film screening at the Echo Park Film Center I would love to show this!

Mesmerizing! Great work! Another example of how beautiful 64T can be. I wish I could get some in DS8mm...

WOW, that's just amazing man! Wish my work was that good..
A few weeks ago I tried incorporating some neon beauty salon signs in my work (That was one of the assignments we received..) But it didn't turn as good as yours.
