Here is a new device from Blackmagic for $250 that allows you to capture uncompressed HD directly from a cameras HDMI port>>

Perfect for you workprinter / DIY telecine folks :)

$250 is cheap enough...though I imagine these things will be like firewire/usb2 cards and run less than $50 in due time...maybe! hahaha...thanks for the link. got it bookmarked...now I just need a good and cheap HDMI-outputting camera! ideas?

I don't follow cards and the technology side of capture all that closely. I will say that anything that claims "Uncompressed" more than likely isn't.

That said the card may capture HD at full HD resolution. But HD is compressed...

What happens if I get 444 HD and want to capture it?? I can't with that card.

Good Luck

And people on this forum can't fit 70mm Imax in their super 8 cameras, either, so what's you point?

My point is that there is a lot of confusion in the way of capture.

I have some S16 stuff that is 444 HD. There really isn't that great of a way to get it to my editor. That is where Online edits come in...

I would like to see S8 with full color even if it only SD resolution.

Its all about color.

Good Luck
