Man those moths are crazy machines - they have finally made the evolutionary leap from sailboat to, er, something else.

Sweet - reminds me of my efforts - polynesian dancing, waves, sailboats, and snorkeling. Go figure. I think I could almost mimic the footage in my own montage - nice to think someone else out there thinks like me! hahaha.

Many thanks for sharing this link.

Thanks super8man, thats my film, glad it bought back some fond memories.

Whilst we're on the nautica topic I was wondering whether anyone has tried any film other than k40 in their nautica? If so what were the results like? Is it possible to use any of the new filmstocks, reversal and negative?

Also looking back at my film for the first time in a while it does strike me how good the image of the nautica is even out of the water. The auto exposure is spot on everytime and the colours are great. You can almost see shots with my nizo which are not so sharp and the exposure is not as good.
I'd expect the nizo to be as good if not better, any ideas what I'm doing wrong? It would have been set on manual exposure most of the time, maybe my internal light meter just needed new batteries.

The obvious answer is that if the batteries are running down (I miss mercury batteries), the light meter will overexpose your footage...similarly, if you have fresh 1.5s, you may underexpose the footage a tad. I just meter my batteries to determine the charge and try to mix two voltages to get 1.7ish.

Again, great footage - I am always impressed with my nautica results as well...soon I will be running non-K40 so I too will find out - Plus X is a no brainer though...

I've shot Tri-X (7266 the new stuff) and e64t (with an 85b stacked in front of the PMA) with the nautica. both look great. e64t looks super good underwater.

Has anyone exposed Wittner's Ektachrome 100D in the Eumig Nautica?
