Man you must be driving the wrong sort of car; a fine automobile should be used to lay down the skid marks, not to clean them up.

Yep, I would love to see a breakdown of cost/margin by emulsion or format, but I guess you need to be a serious player to get that sort of info. Anyone up for a consortium :D Hell we could pretend we were a hedge fund.

Make sure you remove the emulsion downt to the base - ie so the film is clear. The base side (the shiny one) needs scraping as well, especially if the film has any kind of lubricant on it. Also, remove any dust from the scraped edges - when I first used cement splices I had difficulty getting them t...

Kodak film - here today, somewhere else tomorrow?

Not sure whether this would be good news or bad... http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article1343516.ece Could be a good business though if these figures are to be believed: "Sam Doctor, a JPMorgan analyst who covers Kodak, estimates that the companyâ€...

I mainly use a Bessa r3a with various lenses - nokton 1.4/40, Heliar 2.5/75 and Heliar 5.6/12. I use several other film cameras also, but I have to say the camera I have been most impressed with over 20 odd years of use is the Olympus XA - perfectly capable of kicking the shit out of any digital com...

This guy says he can adjust: http://www.film.project-consultant.net/html/agfa.html The movexoom 6 & 10 are pretty good cameras - well designed, highly spec'ed, good build quality (I read somewhere that they were built in the Nizo factory - dunno whether that is true) and they are usually pretty ...

I've always found them to be very helpful. Sure you can get film cheaper elsewhere, but that's no different to any photographic store - you can always find it cheaper online, if it isn't an emergency.

I'm mainly shooting B&W 35mm stills also with my bessa r3a; would like to process & wet print myself but supplies are nonexistent on this rock, plus dont have a darkroom. So I have settled for a film scanner (which is great - dunno why i did not buy one sooner) & printer (which is nowher...

Hmm, isn't there some sort of law in Britain that states that filming in public places is illegal? Then why are webcams OK? Filming in public places is generally not illegal in Britain. There is however an offence of voyeurism under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 which has been used to prosecute the ...

I've only looked at the London bit - some of it (but certainly not all - eg taxi passing bus stop) looks a bit underexposed. Made me feel homesick. Love the shopping trolley/battersea shot, reminds me of those impressionist whistler, monet paintings.
