Competition
Why is it such an off topic? I think it's a great idea, I think its what is needed. I hear hard core film people endlessly complaining about video and digital. I think a competition of a serious nature where good stuff is rewarded will give a real boost to Super 8 filmmaking I am sure people who hav...

I think that the international aspect may be a bit of a headache. Organising such an event could be a nightmare. I think a more locsalised approach is better which is open to everyone - a kind of themed event. I like the idea of winning cash. It takes Super 8 to a different - a more serious and prof...

Competition
Hey I think its a great idea people do talk about competitions and stuff. I wish someone would do it. I think it could work, it'll show Super 8 in a professional way, but here I dont think so though this is a great website on Super 8, but most people seem to be film techies/junkies interested in S8 ...

There seems to be a lot of festivals and stuff around Super 8. Has anyone got a list of all the Super 8 competitions?

Professional Super 8
I think an international competiton is a good idea it will give a great boost to Super 8 films. Something that has categories for best film, best editing, best photgraphy and be music and so on.

Film Editing question
I am aware that most people edit their films on computer. I like a few prefer to cut film. But for all sorts of reasons I am considering editing my project on computer. Many film festivals prefer film/s to be shown on film. And from time to time filmmakers even on this forum talk about editing on co...

Jitter?
I have been using Super 8 for years and have worked with mainly a Bauer A512 and a Nizo 6080. I have worked on several proffessional projects.
I haven't had any problems with cartridge jitter (touch wood) that people here often talk about. Is the jitter problem common? Or am I missing something?

I believe when editing film/cutting film whether its the original or a copy, can add to the creative process. It can be a slow process, but then that that in itself can be beneficial, you learn a kind of dicspline, a structured approach, something in my view you dont necessarily get when working wit...
