Re: Bolex P1 ZOOM REFLEX Daylight filter
ok thanks. So if say you were going to use an iphone app for metering, would you also need to compensate for the fact that you lose 1 fstop through the viewfinder/lens? I've heard this is the case with 16mm and super8 cameras if you meter separately, but not too sure why. Apparently, the effective s...

Bolex P1 ZOOM REFLEX Daylight filter
Hi
Does this camera have a built in daylight filter?
I'm planning to shoot 100D on it, so would like to make sure there is no daylight filter set on it.
Anyone has any experience with this baby?

Re: Wet Gate Telecine - Film-o-clean
Any Moviestuff users with the Film O Clean? using it with/without cleaning product. I understand the Moviestuff Sniper/Workprinter and other devices can probably not be fitted with this device as they are sprocketless. However, during the cleaning phase, it would be handy to be able to use one of th...

Well I wouldn't call it slander to be honest.
It's just my experience. Not more, not less.
It's still great that Wittner exist but I just wish they had a better customer service and a more human approach.

Hi Andreas
Thanks for your answer. That makes sense now.
Although I don't think they were the GEPE ones, just the Bonum ones, which to this day were absolutely fine.

Re: S8 100D at 10.88 Euro (ex tax)
I would beg to differ. Shipping from where I am is so expensive it would hardly be worth it for the price of a few reels. It is more a matter of principles. If someone that spent thousands of euros in my business over the years, mostly buying pens tells me that the small box of pens they ordered, an...

Re: S8 100D at 10.88 Euro (ex tax)
Ordered some new take up spools from Wittner. As they arrived, there was a default with most of them, in that sense that they were narrower than normal in some parts, just ever so slightly warped that it had made them useless. I paid 22 euro shipping for them as they only use UPS. As I emailed to co...

Re: Ripped Film: faulty 100D cart or faulty camera?
We don't seem to be the only ones. I have heard of similar reports and after calling Kodak, they admitted another company had had similar issues. Apparently they have someone looking into it. I hope they figure this out soon as at the moment, it is a bit of a lottery. A Canon 1014XL-S (that works fi...

Re: Pull Processing 100D by 4 f.stops - Possible?
Ok thanks for that. I thought 4x meant 4 stops. We re gonna have to give it a go because it was an important shoot as part of a doco series. It doesn't matter if the footage is very overexposed or looks abstract. As long as we can recognize some sort of image, it should be ok. There were a few rolls...

Re: Pull Processing 100D by 4 f.stops - Possible?
Thanks for your answer. You have some valid points there but the build of the Canon 310XL is different from most other cameras. 1- Regarding the daylight filter point, I would say that it isn't a problem, given that the cartridge design of the 100D (no filter notch at the bottom of the cartridge) ac...

Pull Processing 100D by 4 f.stops - Possible?
Hi Has anybody pulled or pushed colour reversal (64T or 100D) that much with success before? My friend shot some 100D with a Canon 310XL and activated the neutral density filter (red lever on top of the camera) by mistake. From what I've read, it will overexpose the film by 4 stops. The 100D film wa...

Ripped Film: faulty 100D cart or faulty camera?
Hi My friend is having issues with Ektachrome 100D cartridges in his Canon 814 AZ Electronic camera. I was wondering if it was because of the film carts he purchased (faulty batch) or if it is due to the actual camera. I remember having issues with some Ektachrome 64T carts a few years ago, where th...

Focusing adjustment on various stocks (Agfa/Kodak/Fuji)
Hi I was wondering if any focusing adjustments were required between Agfa (Moviechrome/Agfachrome) and Kodachrome/Ektachrome film stocks. I know that there is a difference in that way between Super8 and Fuji Single 8, as single8 is a much thinner film, but it is often hard to tell the difference bet...

Re: Help on promoting the Super8 Format
True thanks. Other points I can think of: -It is an affordable film format, which allows amateurs, students, up and coming artists and filmmakers to shoot celluloid. -It's a qualitative approach rather than a quantitative approach. -You put some thought in your shot as opposed to shooting hours of m...
