Re: Super8 sound projector with sound adjustment
As for the threading problem: maybe you’ll have to press a special button during threading? (Normally on top of the projector, close to the supply reel.) I also noticed that some projectors became a little bit „stubborn“ in their old days. E.g. when using my Bauer T610, I cannot use hama-leaders. (T...

Re: Replacing foam in camera bag?
Just scratching it with my fingernails - and it crumbled to dust faster than a vampire in sunlight.
Using a brush and a vacuum cleaner, I was able to remove the foam.

Re: Replacing foam in camera bag?
The „NOS“ bag and a look at the black foam on its bottom. Only storing a 4008 in this bag for two months caused additional damage to the foam. So today, I’m going to tear it out...

Squeezed Reels?
Hi! Today, I was tinkering around with a projector that I’ve bought recently. I noticed that the „take up“ didn’t work properly. But after a short examination, I noticed that the problem was not caused by the projector, but by the reel: 0400CA75-90F8-470D-948A-5282647AA128.jpeg It’s hard to see on t...

Re: canon ds 8 c8 wide angle adapter
There are also several wide angle adapters from Raynox that are large enough and that don’t seem to require a macro, e.g. this one:

But again, this is untested...

Re: canon ds 8 c8 wide angle adapter
This Kenko is supposed to do the trick: 7414A0F2-51EB-4661-84A5-4BDA06681F56.jpeg (Screenshot from Facebook) It’s available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006L49CI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qDilFbE35FGVE But I have not tried it myself! If I remember correctly, then its rear thread is 52mm. So you...

Re: canon ds 8 c8 wide angle adapter
AFAIK all versions of the C8 require a camera-lens with macro mode on the widest angle.
There are some third party wide angle adapters for lenses that don’t have a macro mode.

The new "Super8" magazine
Hi! What do you think of the new "Super8" magazine ( https://www.mysuper8.net/ )? Yes, it's great to have a printed magazine. And the print quality is great. However, without the cover, the magazine has only 68 pages that are relatively small (something between "A5" and "A4&...

Replacing foam in camera bag?
Hi! The bottom of the inside of my original Beaulieu camera leather bag is completely covered with foam. The bag is „NOS“ (manufactured in the late 1990s), and I‘m its first owner. Hence, I want to keep this bag and continue to use it. The problem: Due to the age, the foam already started to become ...

Re: Interesting article on lenses
To be honest: I've never heard of any cinema tographer using low quality lenses or filters to reduce the image quality for any purpose other than shooting dream-sequences or flash-backs. (Okay, there's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilitis_(film) where they've used this "dreamy look" throu...

Re: Beaulieu-Optivarion 1.8 6-66 Lens Question
When buying C-mount-lenses, you’ll have to keep in mind that there are also CS- and RX-mount. All three have the same screw mount diameter etc., so can be mounted onto the same cameras. But they all expect the film (or sensor) at a different position! CS is mainly used for surveillance cameras, whil...

Re: Beaulieu-Optivarion 1.8 6-66 Lens Question
Hi! Short answer: No motor = real C-mount, compatible with all C-mount-cameras One motor = „Beaulieu mount 1“ (C-mount plus support for Beaulieu‘s auto exposure, only works on Beaulieus) Two motors = „Beaulieu mount 2“ (C-mount plus support for Beaulieu‘s auto exposure and motor-zoom, only works on ...
