Re: The big new changes at EBAY
Roger, I think the significance of what he meant was the problems with using Paypal versus using other methods of payment. (I know statistics can be shown to favor any side of the argument, but comparing to other financial institution would have at least been a fairer comparison). While paying by ot...

Yes, never do cash!
I think he should come to California and film the whole thing, make a little documentary about the whole experience (that way you could do a tax write off for the trip )
What is the latest with this? I really would like to know the outcome...

Re: IJM INCORPORATED
Some of what you are saying is true--but in this instance they have kept the property (the camera) which was never property of IJM, and was never returned (in fact, IJM threatened not to return it or the money until he retracted a statement on this website), and therefore can be reported as theft. B...

Re: IJM INCORPORATED
Found this on the web (super8mm.org), it seems you are not the only one who has had problems with this guy... "Way back in the day I had this beautiful little Beaulieu 7008 Pro, which I treated like a piece of equipment. The one day my cat pushed it off the kitchen table where it promptly hit t...

Re: IJM INCORPORATED
Problem is, he'd have to sue him in California. It's doubtful an out of state judge would have jurisdiction. a few words on the subject: Personal jurisdiction is based on territorial concepts. That is, a court can gain personal jurisdiction over a party only if the party has a connection to the geo...

um...wow, this guys got some balls.
I believe there is a law against extortion...take him to small claims court, I'm sure that he has a history of doing this, would not be that hard to prove your case.

Re: Wal-Mart Processing Kicks Axe!
Do you think Cesar Chavez would have caved in for discounted grapes? ...and his cause would not have been as effective without people boycotting the companies that sell the grapes. BTW, for the record, I don't have a strong opinion either way; BUT, If you think they are so evil (obviously you do, or...

Re: Wal-Mart Processing Kicks Axe!
So...are you saying that you won't patronize a business because you don't agree with their political practices and therefore boycott shopping there? Kudos to you for such strong convictions, I applaud you! :D Unless, of course they have something on sale that you can rationalize (like 4.88 processin...

Ha Ha...I'm sitting here reading this and realized....that this a whole new discussion about whether or not to censor the original discussion, which I think may start a whole new discussion about my new topic of discussion...oh never mind.

Re: I got a Canon 814xl-s
Actually, I thought about this and I don't think it would make much difference... if it's a 62-67 step ring or a 62-58? a difference of what 1mm and 1 stepping up while the other stepping down??
Is there any vignetting with the C-8 lenses and adapter ring?

I got a Canon 814xl-s
After wanting one for a long time, I finally got a Canon 814xl-s and can't wait to shoot some stuff. I had a question about wide angle lenses, I have a few lenses, wide and telephoto (from a Canon G series that has been since stolen, but the lenses remain). Has anyone tried using these lenses? I pla...

Re: california
Jim, you are correct in your assertion that it isn't as starkly different as it used to be from city to city (and yes, Malibu is largely left now, in fact my 10th grade civics teacher was the mayor here not too long ago)....but the cities ARE still vastly different. As someone who has lived in SoCal...
