DSLR? You mean she's an independent videomaker :D

My advice is to go for the 814 XL-S AND avoid the Beaulieus. Repairing businesses love Beaulieus 8)

Re: Kodak news

They are not manufacturing the acetate for their films. Instead they will buy it from external sources, which nowadays sounds quite logical from any point of view even more when Kodak is now focusing it's activity on certain areas and leaving others. This would be like asking BMW to manufacture thei...

Good question regarding the film stocks. Anyone check this out? I wonder who is cutting it down for them/packaging it.

Re: How to wind the spring of a Bolex B8?

I lubricated My B8 some years ago but didn't disasemble the spring. There are youtube videos on how to oil a B8 without doing it although I suppose the spring may need some kind of lube as well.

How did you disasembled the spring? I could not do so

Although the film itself is relatively cheap, the several processes to make a cartridge that performs at high s...

Most Super8 cameras disengage automatically the internal filter when inserting a "D" type cartridge, no matter what is indicated manually in the external switch. Don't know about the Sankyos

I know the man behind ochoypico.com. Have been a customer for years now and can assure he's a very fair person with no intention of autopromoting his own telecines, which I am recommending in this forum for years now...

BTW give a look at his prices on his website :o The results worth it
