Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!
Seems like they're getting some complaints about the timing and getting a little defensive. At least they're producing something. The goal for all of us should be to have a viable, stable company for us to enjoy their film for decades to come so I'm fine with them taking their time. It's a big job a...

Re: Kodachrome K40 chemistry question
Kodachrome was one of the most toxic and complicated processing processes ever; one of the reasons it didn't survive even though it's such a beautiful and long-lasting stock. There's was much talk about the process when Dwayne's shut down...while you can process it as B&W, the real color process...

Not film related, sorry...but as Roger has said, it's pretty bad in Houston and surrounding areas. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Universal now offering 2K and Audio modules!
Since the machine does slides, could it do 100 foot rolls of 35mm film? Hand cranked 35mm film cameras seem to be popular. I know I want one of the old ones that hold 100 ft rolls. Eyemo. Love my Eyemo...highly recommended. https://vimeo.com/16430701 I believe the slide adapter is for just that...s...

Just finished a B&W jazz music video that was supposed to be Double-X 16mm but we had to go digital...Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. Curse the fact that everything costs money!!

If you really have a lot of film, I would pick up a Moviestuff Retroscan Universal even on a credit card, then transfer your film and sell it for $500 less than you bought it for.

It would be fun to get a P30 35mm 100' roll and try it out on my Eyemo.

Re: Kodak Super8 revival - Media coverage
Not excited about the grainy lower resolution look. I'm pretty excited about everything else there. The look will definitely appeal to yuppies trying for something instantly stylized & "hip." Kodak was really smart to jump on her bandwagon so to speak. She's getting a lot of press at ...

Re: 16mm footage of Apollo 11's engines
Too bad "The Mighty Saturns" isn't available on Blu-Ray. Would love to see it in HD. My father was part of a small team at Westinghouse that built the video camera that shot those famous steps of Neil Armstrong. They basically put it in an aluminum meatloaf pan. At the time it was amazing ...

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
I understand the internal audio file process but how in the world does that sync with scans without knowing what you're doing? Kodak will have to make that idiot proof or have a PR nightmare on their hands.Nicholas Kovats wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2017 8:30 pm No Will. Not referring to outside scans. I was referring to the Logmar's internal process.

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
Logmar may have implemented the same audio design as their original Beta canera. Each camera start/stop is synchronized to a sequential stamped audio file with a unique file file number. However, it never worked in the original Logmar camera. So each start/stop will be sent back to the user as a se...

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
This is what I find interesting from that article... "The real break through is the S-8’s real-time digital sound. Just slip in an SD card and record one lip- synchronous audio file per take. After shooting, connect the camera or SD card to a computer, drag the audio file underneath the digital...
