Well, it's not a Zeiss , but I might take a look at some of those Computar c mount cctv lenses. I picked up a 12.5 -75mm for $10 bucks for my Bolex and so far it looks like it'll work ( so long as I don't go below an F-stop of 2).

I can only suppose that either they wanted that super clean look, or that they never gave final image quality a thought (though that is difficult to imagine). If they had wanted a film look, why not simply shoot film? For the most part the budget was so low, that they couldn't afford to shoot with ...

All of which you can download for free (including the pro versions) as a 30 day trial at Adobe's Webs...

As nice as the image quality is on this piece, I personally just don't like the look -- too clean, even sterile looking. Like "perfect" video. It makes me appreciate the look of film all the more. I agree. I think it looks way too clean as well. With all the great and interesting filters ...

More Super 8 & 16mm Music Video's

UK Director Tim Pope has been making Music Video's since the early 80's and now has a Website showcasing many of them. All are in QuickTime format and there's even some linear notes from Mr. Pope on the making of them. Good stuff 8)

I know up in the bay area you have San Francisco State College. Not sure what it's like now, but at one time Francis Ford Coppola's Brother was running the Department. There's also the Art Institute of SF, which has been putting out some top-of-the line Music Video/Commercials Directors. And if your...

From what I've gathered, most distributors don't perticulary like features shot on video. Sure, they're embrace something with a big name star/and or tallent, but for the most part if you tell them you "movie" was shot on video, they'll tell you to call them next time when you shoot on film.

Pushing K40

I was wondering has anyone ever made the error( like I did) of under exposing K30 1/3 of a stop. If so, do you think it would be worth having it pushed, or should I just try to color correct it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

K40 stock at Kodak

Today, I bought seven cartridges of K40 at Kodak's Headquarters in Hollywood and the guy behind the counter said they have about 370 left. Which makes me wonder: is it still reliable to use the K40 Shipping Envelopes thease days now that the end is near, or is it better just to go to WalMart and pay...
