So Kodachrome is gone in 16mm too... I thought it was just gone in Super 8. Kodak US no longer offers it.

My Kodak K-100 Turret is a great camera. Once you get over the non-reflex part, it is very easy to load and use. One wind goes much longer than my K-3 too.

But then the K-100 isn't that old, I think mine is from '66. 39 years is still a baby when it comes to Kodak 16mm.

That was back when they cared about style in almost everything. Its a work of art.

Roger, too bad you can't build something like that from scratch for a Workprinter, it would make a statement.

The book was dated in 2004, so I'm sure it was E125 at the time, but I will look into the 64T processing.

Target Stores in U.S. Process Super 8

Noticed in Target's Photo Processing Price Book today that they will process Super 8 Kodachrome and Ektachrome for $6.99 each and it will take 7-14 days. I'd bet the Kodachrome goes to Dwaynes. I've seen alot of references to Walmart processing, but not for Target stores. Sorry if this has been cove...

Thanks Roger, I've run into that problem many times with non-Rank transfers. Your explanation makes perfect sense, I should have thought of that before. It can be a struggle with FCP's limited color correction tools to fix this issue. npcoombs - Try using the white balance in the 3-way color correct...

Film Storage Cases

Back in the day, you could find cases that would hold like (10) 400ft. Super 8 reels. I've seen a few every now and then on eBay, but I was wondering if anyone has come accross a company still selling them? I need a few.

Similar issues came up during the digital audio revolution. When the ADATs came out, everyone thought they were audio engineers and could record the next big hit, including me. I soon found my mixes were nowhere near pro level, so I saved my money and went to South Beach Studios in Miami. Worked wit...

I've used Bonolabs for a while now. Their HD transfers are one-light only, and they do a really good job of providing as neutral a transfer as possible. So if you're into color correcting, that's great. If you're new to color correcting, you might want to find a lab that will help you in that regard...

Received my Kodak gray card 2 weeks ago. Comes in a nice red plastic case... guess they had to justify the cost. Its printed and mounted to white foamcore.

Make sure you read up on proper use, you don't want the colorists to remove any special lighting you're using.

I use a Bauer F20; not motorized but a fairly recent model. Bought it from Germany. The newer Bauer models seem very well built and substantial.

I've had the same Tri-X transfered at two different places. One was a DVD mill that was offering a miniDV package, and then at CinePost in Atlanta, GA on their Rank machine. The first transfer from the DVD mill was full of dirt and hotspots, but I actually was looking some of the roughness. CinePost...

Light Meters

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good light meter? I've used the internal meter on my Canon 814 with poor results and I am also using DeJur Ciné meter that must be very old. My exposures seem to be very hit & miss with either meter. Some of the higher end ones seem to have scopes as well, ...
