Re: Old 1966 regular-8 4:3 to 16:9 and some other tricks

Just curious Fred if you've noticed any long term issues using the liquid paraffin or have any more recent wetting agent recommendations. I saw your 2016 YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsk4Eb1Lzq4 that said you use Naphtha and 40% liquid paraffin. Yes, well... the 40% liquid paraffin is a ...

Re: GamMac: a new Avisynth tool to remove color cast

Neat technique. Looks similar to some of the automatic curves adjustment tools in Photoshop. If so, watch for some odd results in edge cases where the original footage genuinely had little or no information in one or more of the colour channels. Examples would be shots of blue sky over blue water, ...

GamMac: a new Avisynth tool to remove color cast

Hello everybody, When transfering film, we have to deal very often with color cast especially on older films. I noticed that when we split the digital file in R, G and B and then set gamma for each channel the same, the color cast dissapears. This was my basic idea: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread...

Re: Film transfer tutorial

Yes the adverts you are getting is probably because you used a soundtrack that “belonged” to somebody. I have made the soundtrack songs myself, with Magix Music Maker, by mixing individual loops together. Anyhow, there where some mistakes in the text and I have uploaded a new corrected ...

Re: Sneak peek at the new RetroScan Universal

Wow! Great design Roger! Very good acces to the film gate and very easy to change camera position in all directions. Do you transport the film with the take up reels only or are the small guide wheels also powered? A wetgate option would be nice too!

Hey Fred, I bet you would never have guessed at the tender age of 14 you would be digitising the film nearly 40 years later!! Nearly 50 years Frank! ;) Actualy this film and similar other films have 'triggered' me to start this project, 8 years ago. Looks like you transferred at 16bit and applied g...

You 're welcome ;)

I have mentioned it because some people out there (not the Film9 people, they have always been very correct about this) are using my scripts commercial, pretending they have made it .
