Re: gakken projector?

I apologize. I obviously have this wildly confused with a different kit.

Repairs Leicina and Bolex?

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who can repair
1/ Leicina 8S (meters of course and hence the diaphragms).
2/ Bolex 155-160 (various faults, mostly optical -- viewfinder out of alignment, focusing knob that will not traverse its intended radius)

Anyone I should avoid?

Thank you

Thanks

Re: gakken projector?

I have looked at his carefully and I came to the conclusion that it actually "projects" PAPER strips (through a complicated arrangement of mirrors) that are preprinted or you can "draw" yourself. If I remember correctly, the paper has a central perforation and can not be used for...

Transer format for Super-8

Addressed before on this forum but there is so much info, the opinions vary, the preferred technology appears to change every 6 months, the search engine is a little rough, and I know zippity-do-dah about such matters. I have a short piece set to a music track that I have shot in 64T. It is supposed...

Re: Question about ND Filter and UV Filter

Yes, you can use a UV filter with an ND filter. I keep a UV filter on all of my lenses all of the time just to protect them.

Interesting Bolex gunstock

I know I have waited until the last minute but just for inspection the Bolex camera listed on ebay item #130349019581 has what is to me a very unusual gunstock. The "screwdriver" handle secures it to the camera. It looks like it could be replicated with some plywood and bushings.

Re: Lenny Lipton's Official Site

I used to look at the pictures of Mr LIpton in his texts and thought of him as a rather long in the tooth (at the time) hippy. There were articles where he would discuss 3D shooting illustrated with pictures of Minoltas and Nizos yoked together. I thought at the time, "Come on, it's just not pr...

Get your checkbooks out

In case you missed them there are a couple of sweet deals on ebay. One is a nice collection of 16mm cameras for only $250,000 and the other is a collection of lenses for $200,000. So put off buying that couple rolls of CInechrome and get yourself a Christmas present.

Re: Is it dead here or just me??

mjclash, I, too, would like a Minoltina! There was one on ebay a few months back that had 2 magazines with it but I was busy getting burned on another deal and couldn't do it at the time. There was one within the last month on ebay but it did not list or show magazines. I watch ebay.uk for these as ...

Re: Is it dead here or just me??

It would discourage me from using the site if I asked a question and got a response like, "Doesn't the internet work anymore? " ie Google the answer, don't bother us. That sort of response kills half the fun for half the people. Doesn't appear to happen a lot here, but when it does it seem...

Re: Is it dead here or just me??

I had very actively been using the internet to punt about 8mm film for over a year before I stumbled onto this site. It does not seem to have a very high profile. Is it linked to Super8man's site? I don't remember seeing it the one million times I've been there. His site comes up with great frequenc...

Re: REGULAR 8

I think it is better to give cameras away for parts rather than put them in the dumpster. One man's trash... I have several Bolex's and have found the cache that people attach to them interesting. Rather like a Porshe Boxster. There are faster. more dependable, more maneuverable cars for a lot less ...
