Isn't the H series basically a 16mm camera that's been adapted to 8mm?Loading should be no different than an H16,which is self threading and if you're using daylight loads, subdued light should be fine as there is an extra 6 feet or so at the head and tail to allow for threading waste.Am I correct ...

I shot the new Plus-X at 50 ASA a few weeks ago and had it pulled one stop. The results were consistent with old Plus-X I've shot under the same conditions. The grain is extremely fine, to the point where projecting it on a 52" high screen it was still just barely visible. Thanks, thats what I...

I did not say it does not look fine. But when PlusX 50ASA is metered correctly, it gives a look of brilliance down to the jet blacks. Try achieving a jet black brilliant look in the ASA 100? I shot, literally, hundreds and hundreds of PlusX 50ASA. I maybe used to how it looks. PlusX 100ASA may look...

I thought the stock didn't change only the processing? Anyway I shot one of the 'old' 50 asa stock and metered it as 100 asa and it got the new processing. Looked fine to my eyes.

Out of curiousity which Hi8 cameras would be the ones to look out for? (It's hard not to have a soft spot for analogue video...) I really like the Sony TR700 and still use one to this day. They go crazy cheap these days. 5 years ago I bought a pricey Sony VX-3 (3 ccd) but dumped that because the TR...

I happy to see that there are Pk59's out there but what are the expiration dates? I don't want to steal your PK59's. I just need the expiration dates printed on the mailer. If further out(2006, 2008, 2009) , I would like to know. It will affect when Kodak can cancel the mailers. Kodak believes the ...

I don't want them but I believe Kodak is prepaing to announce that they will no longer be accepted. From the response I got from this post, It doesn't appear that users of this forum have any. Well that would suck cause I still have 11 mailers. I was expecting them to be good until the day they clo...

Removing side cover on Minolta D12

Since the directions given for the D10 are a little different I thought I would post my findings. Warning , after removing the cover I found 5-6 of the smallest ball bearings I've ever seen on the work bench. They had to of come from the camera but I don't have a clue where. It doesn't matter for th...

if there's no screws around the side then it must be accessed from the top. Is the top covered in leatherette or black metal? There's got to be a way into it. Or, does the camera cover come off without removing the speed dial? The D12 speed dial looks the exact same as the one on the D10, it has th...

Re: dismantling minolta

There's three more knobs (open/closed shutter knob, auto/manual knob and camera speed). All three are held in place by three tiny (and I mean tiny) screws located around the edges. Ok, I was looking at a D12 along side a D10 and there is one difference. The speed dial is different. On the D10, like...
