I just got a Minolta Zoom 8, my first R8 camera. I bought it because it's just so beautiful but I look forward to trying out some film in it. Tim, you also got the camera that is best to use when taking acid. Frame grab from Roger Corman's "The Trip" http://www.filmshooting.com/scripts/ga...

Re: Bolex 18-5L

Hi, i was looking for a Bolex 18-5 for Super8, i've found a 18-5 Super and a 18-5L Super... what is the difference, only the lamp? Thanks, bye. tr0x I have both and there are some minor functional differences like on the 18-5 Super you push down the loop formers but on the 18-5L moving the main swi...

I use to have H8 RX4 DS8 that had the film mag door added on top. Also if you look at the for sale board here you'll see that Konton's selling one that has the mag door.

The cord you want has a 4 pin plug on one end and a plug that will go into the 4 pins on the other end. You plug the cord into the cameras trigger area (after you've removed the trigger) and then plug the trigger module into the other end. Then the trigger is used in hand to start the camera. I've g...

I like how he finds outdated stock to be 80% useful. Good way to back up that price 8-[

Since when is it child porn just because of under age nudity?

Re: On using a prime lens

My last post on scratched lens leads me to this post: What does one need to know if using a 180 prime for Super8? Obviously it's all manual but I think I read that a 180mm or 200mm acts like a much longer lens on Super8. Any truth to that? Hope my ED will work because I love that lens for stills. T...

The R8 film I've gotten has been right around 25' on a spool, no extra head/tail. So it becomes wise to load in the dark to waste as little film as possible. Fomapan is an exception they give extra. But the Bolex H8 loads are 100 foot(200 feet when slit). The 100 foot 16mm loads used to have an extr...
