I wonder what the filter looks like.
I have tried using a red filter on reddish film and it does not cancel out the red in films, like a red light would do against a non projected red spot on a background.
you could try some gels to see what works.

Re: DS8 perforator
anyone know who made the dye?
I asked the seller what brand the perforator is and got no reply back.
maybe the thing is for perforating film stock for the beaulieu or wilcam 200' modified cameras. what one would do with the 1/2 of 16mm film, then 8mm film with odd perforations, i dont know.

where is that perforator dye from?
I've read buhl made a reperforator, but never have seen one, not even on fleabay.
its not a bad idea if you dont want to spend 30-40 per roll from some place which recuts 35mm stock.

Re: Introducting a new ultra-wide film format called UltraPa
I'm trying to follow along on this and ultrapan8 would be a good idea considering everything is going 16:9 these days for hd but i;m confused on what you shot it on. jpeg1 looks like an 8mm pan 8 wide frame but the modified beaulieu 4008 is a super 8 camera! In the jurgen lossau book there is mentio...

not a bad final cut.
I didn't care for the fades or the camera panning back and forth.
how long did it take you to edit and sync the footage?

Market Street film on CBS
There was a short story on 60 minutes on film preservation and the San Francisco Market street film. The film was a travelogue of sorts, shot, as it turn out, 1 week before the 1906 earthquake. I'm guessing the film was shot on nitrate and there are only 3 copies left and one copy was transferred to...

you don't really say if you processed this yourself using what process or paid someone to do it.

Re: Reminder: Dec 30 Last Day for Kodachrome process
Ah maybe one could get a petition going for kodak to make the chemicals for dwaynes photo to do a one or two time process.
If there are enough people saying to do a run of kodachrome processing, kodak and dwaynes might think its worth it.
at least the kodachrome process patent should be available.

Re: Sending flm to Dwaynes - expiration and dirt query
I had 2 batches of kodachrome film processed. One with an expiry of 80/81 was had a pink hue in dark shadows but almost okay in bright sunshine, overexposed 2 stops, with the 85a filter making no difference. K25 from the last batch in 2004 was pinkish and dark. If kodachrome incorporates the dye int...

Re: The K40 Saviour...(s)....
The idea of processing kodachrome as a b/w negative seems uneconomical as you can purchase b/w negative film or a reversal film in black and white already. Is there any difference in kodachrome as a b/w negative than an actual b/w negative? If the film is already exposed then maybe as a processing a...

8mm magazine film identifying code
Anybody know where I can find information on the numeric code stamped on some 8mm film (not the edge code but the header number). Trying to find out what type of film it is. Calls to kodak and dwayne's have them stumped, oddly enough. Also where can I find what the leader dots on the 8mm magazine fi...
