I received my order of 100D DS8 from John Shwind yesterday and I hope to shoot some tests this weekend. I will post some clips when I get the processed film back from the lab.

I could design the gate based off the Bolex H8 DS8 gate and adapt it to the K3 easy enough, but the pull down claw would be a challenge beyond my capabilities I think. I bet Clive Tobin could pull it off if we paid him to engineer it :D Or perhaps the guy who does the Bolex conversions could be talk...

I often think about how hard it would be to convert a K-3 16mm to DS8. It would be much less complex to do then converting a Bolex H-8 considering there is no footage/frame counter. I have opened up a few K-3's while converting them for the Tobin motor and it looks very doable to me. Regards. Paul C...

John Shwind has 100D for sale right now. I have 5 rolls on order already with my K40 order. The price is $40 per roll which is much cheaper then 50 foot Super-8 carts for the same amount of finished film. If a new camera was made I would bet Kodak would produce Vision2 in DS8 as well. My two favorite Michael Mann movies are Heat and Manhunter. I wish Vice was up to the level of those, but it was still a good movie.

Digital production will have to come a long way to attract the cream of the crop directors like Ridley Scott. I agree most productions directed at the 13 year old boy demographic wont care and can’t wait for the "revolution" to take hold. On the other hand top quality for the time b...

I saw it a few days ago. I found it to be entertaining which is why I go to the movies. I did not know that it was shot on HD until a few days after I watched it, but I had a feeling some scenes where video and the documentary style shooting worked for some stuff but not others. I think it would hav...

Looks very promising. There are several great programs out that are designed for color correcting. I have been playing with a demo of Apple's shake>

I am impressed with the results so far, has anyone else tried it?

Cool, I cant wait to try it out. Regards, Paul Cotto I have some footage from a musicvideo with The Rasmus, in negative Super8 (both 200T and 500T I think). I have the permission to post a few samples (if I show them the samples and get the OK clearance first), if I only get some sparetime to pick s...

I wonder if you had 3 different size blades Small, Medium, and Large if this would vary the ammount of light enough to automate the 3 exposeures? Or what if you put 3 progressively dark ND filters between the existing blades. Paul Cotto i was away for a week but i'm capturing a test roll justin sent...
