I haven't talked with John about this, but I had assumed he'd be doing a cinechrome 40 when current stocks of cinechrome 25 run out. But perhaps sales are so low that even he finds it better to concentrate on selling the other emulsions? Or perhaps Kodak aren't willing to perf the fim? Just guesses...

Jesse Chambliss is a scam artist. If you go to his house in Georgia and knock on the door, an Ugly old man in his underwear will answer the door. His now defunct catalog is just a facade for a junk shop. Do you honestly think that he owns all of that stuff? No way! He buys from everybody else and t...

Paul - For the ESM motor and the Tobin crystal synch unit. Is it enough to have the 1:1 shaft to make these connections or does the Bolex H-8 Rex4 DS8 need a modification? Also, if the answer is Yes, can these motors be used on Bolex H-16 Rex5 attached to the 1:1 shaft? YES, the ESM motor will work...

Wow, I thought I was the only one who could spend hours drooling over Chambliss Cine Equipment's catalog! They are good to do business with but they are on a professional level, so they are expensive. Just a bit of trivia. I own a Bolex DS-8mm camera that was modified from a H-16Rex4 16mm camera. E...

Re: K25 vs K40 I'm so confused

Hi, so I'm reading, and reading and reading. I just started my quest to shoot 8mm film...so I'm reading, and this is what I found....(no amazing discovery since you all already knew this). Kodak stopped producing the K25 double rolls for my regular 8 camera. But they said that K40 rolls for Super 8...

Thanks for the invite. Last time I was in Austin was a few years back for a training program on software. I live on the Gulf Coast south of Houston. I did used to live in Austin back in the late 70's. John doesn't have those adapters in stock but I did get someone to send me pictures of them. I was...

Exactly where is Kodachrome made?

Does anyone know exactly where kodachrome super-8 and 16mm film is made? I mean an address. I heard it was made in the USA and packaged in France.

Thanks,
Paul Cotto

Re: Film Scanner cameras

Several threads are around about using a flat bed scanner to scan film but many miss the obvious solution, which is to use a better camera. I agree totally. In fact within the year there should be at least two different HD home camcorders and associated software that should also work. What I think ...

Film Scanner cameras

Hello, I just thought I would share a link to a company that sells cameras for telescope digital photography. Several threads are around about using a flat bed scanner to scan film but many miss the obvious solution, which is to use a better camera. Several options exist and most are geared toward t...

Re: Re

I only know enough about electricity to be dangerous so I stick to low voltage DC. The motor is slowed down with an interval timer which bumps the motor around in small jolts. Paul I am doing something along these lines using a Eumig 610D projector. How would I know the rating of the DC motor if yo...

Here are some pictures. This is in the early, early development stages so it looks very crude, but it works. The frames are transfered by USB cable as 640X480 TIF's. Registration is good and focus is by a X Y macro stage. Here are the location of the pix, click the link Cool! Looks great! Any photo...

Eric have you seen this device? It's a digital recorder for super-8 film, kind of a scanner but uses a Nikon D1 for capture.

What do you think?

By the way, I fix all my own cameras also so more power to ya!

Re

paul, that sounds cool. could you be so kind as to post a photo or diagram of your invention? also, how does the computer register the capture process? also, do the frames have any jitter, or do they have alignment problems when played back on your computer? it would be to be able to have a device ...
