It took a couple of years but my film "Howard's Keep" is ready in time for the Halloween season. Shot all on Super 8 Tri-X, (Canon 1014 XLS and 1014E) it's a ten minute dark fantasy. Make sure to watch it in HD mode and headphones are best but at minimum, turn up the volume... my sound guy...

I guess it's safe to say that if I had walked into a good quality or high-end camera shop in 1975 I could have purchased the Canon 1014E (research!)

Does anyone know what year the Canon 1014E was launched in North America? (71, 72 73?)

And during what years did Canon manufacture this camera?

I did an internet search but could not find definitive answers.

Oh that is a real shame.

Over the past year I've had over two hours of S-8 B/W footage developed by AC for a project I am working on. They were terrific to work with and I found their processing, for some reason, just better than an east coast lab I have also used.

Can't wait to get my Retro 8!

You may want to try a small can (e.g. makes 2 gallons) of that instant snow powder product.

It's easy to make, it's quick and really does look like snow.
