Re: 50D looks great!

I know the man behind ochoypico.com. Have been a customer for years now and can assure he's a very fair person with no intention of autopromoting his own telecines, which I am recommending in this forum for years now... BTW give a look at his prices on his website :o The results worth it I second t...

If I were to guess, I'd say it looks like pulldown blur. Take a look at Step 10 from this link:

Re: Super 8 Today #16?

Being a subscriber, I sent him an email well over two weeks ago thanking him for having published S8 Today, asking if I could get the final issue mailed to me, and also offered to pay for the last issue and the shipping. No response.

I received it only after ordering a copy from Spectra.

Re: Who has results with Kodak Ektachrome 100D S8

Hi Bart: I definitely agree, it seems very contrasty to me and reds seem to bloom with oversaturation. Before Kodak released this, I always looked upon 100D as a stock I would use if I wanted the images to look warm. I based this on the results I got using Spectra's 100D: http://vimeo.com/4530359 ht...

Re: Keepers of the frame

Great documentary. Never really knew about Vitaphone (though I've seen the label on the credits of many of the older B&W's I've seen). Also got to see a hands on of how three layer technicolor works. Many thanks.

Re: Sound Cartridges

I think that's rather good images. Has the film been stored in a freezer all the years or not? I ask because I manage to by a Kodachrome 40 sound cartridge dated 1990 that I was hoping I could use in my Sankyo sound camera. But if the result becomes half as good as yours I will give it a try. I was...

Re: Sound Cartridges

I recently shot a roll of 1989 K-40 Sound film using my Elmo sound camera with an external Rode microphone plugged into the camera. http://vimeo.com/12587924 Not a perfect sound sync, and it was a bit of a pain to do since I needed to extract the audio using a sound projector. For me it was a lot mo...

Re: Any one get a transfer from Cinelab?

I can also vouch for their quality and turnaround time for developing. I send them color negatives in both Super 8 and 16mm and I never have to wait longer than a week or so including delivery to and from. I use them for all of my negative work since they're geographically closer to me. I used to se...
