Bolex EBM 16mm

Hi, I have recently bought a Bolex EBM 16mm camera which looks mint. I have been reliably informed by the previous owner that only about 2000ft of film has been exposed through the camera. I have re celled the Bolex external battery pack and the camera runs at all speeds. The only slight problem is ...

Eclair ACL II Motor

My Eclair ACL 2 has developed a fault with the heavy duty motor. The camera was recently serviced so I know that isn't the problem but I have been running the camera at 75fps shooting 400ft magazines. I have had a specialist look at the motor and apparently the circuit boards are the weak point. I w...

Morse G3 processing tank

I am interested to know if anyone has processed Kodak 7222 negative 16mm film in a Morse tank with any success. I have trawled through this site and the web and have not found the definitive answer. If any one can help I am after processing times using D76 at 1:1 dilution processing 100ft of the afo...

Super 8 show print.

Hello, I wonder if anyone here knows of a facility either in the UK or mainland Europe that would be able to produce a super 8 projection print from a super 8 black and white negative. I have been looking for somewhere also that could blow up from super 8 B&W neg to 16mm positive without success...

LED Flat panel light.

Hello, I am interested in buying a flat panel LED light for filming super 8 indoors. I am planning on using it with my Canon 814xl-s which has a 220 shutter and a hot shoe mounting point on the top of the camera. I wonder if anyone has had any experience using a flat panel as a supplementary light s...

Re: Canon 814xl-s door skin removal.

Hi Tim, you are right, I shall leave it as it is. The camera is new to me and I do intend to use it, just put a test film through over Christmas. I just feel that its 30 years old and survived un-marked until I got my hands on it. As you said, its probably had little use, I intend on changing that. ...

Canon 814xl-s door skin removal.

Hello, I have what was a mint Canon 814xl-s camera until christmas when I managed to knock the camera against a door pillar and have dented the film door. Its only cosmetic I know, but if I could I would like to try and rub out the dent from the inside. The metal skin is I think glued onto the plast...

Re: First time Super 8 short!

My experience with 100d is that it prefers overcast conditions rather than full sun. Because of the contrasty characteristics of the film stock I have found that highlights blow out easily in full sun. I noticed that this short was shot in overcast light, maybe that was a conscious choice, I agree t...

Beaulieu 4008 ZM II eye cup adapter ring.

Hello, I already posted this message in the wanted section but didn't have much interest or views. I wonder if anyone has or knows of anywhere to obtain an adapter ring to use a new rubber eye cup with a 21mm opening. The spare eye cup I have has Beaulieu marked on it and it came as an extra when I ...

So does that mean with un-notched cartridges I should use a screw in filter for best picture quality? Stuart

Canon 814 xl-s internal filter.

Hello, I have recently acquired a Canon 814 xl-s and am interested to know that when the internal filter is switched out is there still a clear plastic filter in place. I know that with the Beaulieu 4008 this is the case. The reason I am asking is that when exposing tungsten balanced film in dayligh...

Canon 814 xl-s black foam!

Hello, I have just bought a Canon 814 xl-s and have noticed that the black foam around the film door that acts as a light barrier, has turned to a sticky mess. I understand that this is a common problem with 30 year plus cameras. Has anyone had any experience with replacing this material and can off...

Hello, I have a Beaulieu 4008ZMII and would like to produce some multiple exposure sequences using the rewind function on the camera. Hello, how are you? I just noticed the question on the forum board. Yes I did sell the S56, I now just have the 801 but also have a beautiful Beaulieu 4008 zm2 with the right macro lens. As you responded to my old question I thought I might ask you another. I am filming my parents golden wedding ann...

Re: Beaulieu 4008 ZM II light meter.

Thanks for your help again, I shall give this a try. I have bought some switch cleaner which I will apply carefully. I am familiar with removing the case side, also information from you a while back. Thanks. Stuart.
