I wonder what Kodak means by a "small batch"? It does sound like an interesting idea Francis, but regardless of the superiority of DS8 over Super 8, it suffers from an intensified and enhanced version of the Super 8 problem. No new cameras, no new projectors, no affordable home negative fi...

It is good that someone from Kodak is willing to answer questions. Although I wonder if we'd really want to hear an honest answer to a question like "Is the future of Super 8 assured?" I feel the days of "assured" Super 8 viability are really gone already, even if Kodak is still ...

How hard is it to find a DS8 camera? Isn't it true that there were relatively few made, compared to standard Super 8?

I've heard that a conversion from something like a Bolex H8 can run over $1000 USD easily.

What film stocks are available?

I did give them a call actually but the two people I spoke with weren't even aware Kodak had released new negative stocks in the format, oh well... Honestly, I think my chances of finding any in this country is slim at best. Australia has to be one of the worst countries for this kind of thing, we ...

I've never run into anyone else using any movie camera when I've been out filming. Nor when I've not been filming, for that matter. It's not even very common to see people out in public using camcorders either, unless you happen to be at one of the typical venues for such things. Like weddings, barb...

Yup, we just wait. I'll have to wait longer than you, super8man, as I sent my film out via Kodak pre-paid processing mailer. That generally takes two or three weeks to come back.

Well, I'm in Dallas. The postage from Dallas to Fair Lawn New Jersey for the prepaid processing envelope is 83 cents. I certainly don't bother with stamps, though. I just take my mailers in to the Post Office and let them weigh each one and stick a postage label on, then pay them the total. Consider...

Thanks, Chris. Is that an online magazine, or a paper one? What issue, or can I access your review online?

I shot the Dallas skyline from a park west of town, one frame every 10 seconds. It was windy and the clouds were moving pretty good. I started at 14:30 and shot until 21:30, well after dark in order to get the city lights. This was my first attempt at timelapse, so I hope it looks interesting. I'm s...

I still have 9 or 10 carts of 7276 in the freezer, so it'll be a while before I buy any of the new 7265. Or maybe not so long, depending on how much I shoot when I go on vacation in a month. Anyhow, I develop in D-94, and I don't see any good reason to switch to D-94A. I don't really need the extra ...

Oh wait. I see. 7276 is 50D / 40T. That's the old Plus-X. There is indeed a new Plus-x, 7265.

Guess I'm behind the times. How does 7265 compare to 7276?

Kodak site has wrong ASA for PXR 464

On the Super 8mm Film Products page, Kodak states that Plus-X reversal film is 100 ASA Daylight or 80 ASA Tungsten. This is the 7265 film stock. It has always been 50D / 40T, as every box I have states. Has Kodak changed this emulsion?

I appreciate the offer, Karl, and overnight shipment to Dallas would certainly get it to me in time. But I'm all set to shoot Super 8 on Saturday, and I don't want to shift gears now. I don't have any experience with regular 8, just a good camera that holds out the promise of DR8 fun once I gain som...

And good luck to you, too.

I do have my Dad's old Kodak 8mm in storage. But alas, I don't have any DR8 film on hand, and it's a bit late to be ordering it.
