I don't see how a negative film could be considered a replacement for a reversal film. You can't project the stuff.

Now if the E6 process Ektachrome 100D is released for Super 8, that might be precursor to the demise of K40.

+AnonymousGuest+, I don't mean to give offense, but I can see that you complain eloquently. Why do you think that creating a market for the neg films, or any particular film you want, in Australia is Kodak's obligation? They'll sell wherever there is sufficient demand, but they don't go out of their...

Plus X in now 100ASA, TriX 200ASA. To be more precise, Plus-X is 100 ASA daylight, 80 tungsten IF you develop it in D-94A. If you develop it in D-94, it is 50 daylight, 40 tungsten. I don't know how other developers affect speed. I haven't bought any of the new Plus-X 7265. Is the cartridge notched...

Ok, I started another thread to discuss MovieMaker's commercial idea, so anyone who wants to post on that topic, please do so in the new thread. That way, we'll keep Scotness' question thread on topic. Here is a link to it Super 8 commercial and promotional ideas (EDITED to add) I copied all of the ...

Hey, I was thinking, why not to create a kind of video clip made with differents works of differents S8 filmmakers and then present that clip to independent cinema festivals worldwide? That could be a good way to promote S8 film. I present several works in film festivals and some filmmakers asked t...

I´m not sure if we need one script and determine which one of us is the "best" cinematographer, director, editor, etc... Each individual should be allowed to participate - because each of us has a different approach to Super-8 - and that´s the beauty of it. One´s using it for fam...

I've had an idea for a super 8 commercial. You could show a child in the 1960's, then watch as this person grows up...everything around them chnges or dies but the one constant is that they can still watch the home movies (featuring themselves as a kid) made 40 years ago ...final scene could be thi...

I´d be in if we do it like the great "Timelapse"-projects (although I haven´t seen anything of them yet...). The idea of a contest isn´t bad too. I´m sure there are plenty of good ideas out there. Every registered member should be allowed to vote for their favorite. We could t...

How about a S8 film commercial contest? Shooters do so at their own expense and many prizes are offered. NO ENTRY FEE!

Super 8 commercial and promotional ideas

I'm starting this topic as a split off from Scotness' solicitation of questions for Kodak thread. There have been some excellent Super 8 promotional ideas proposed first by MovieMaker and continued by others in that thread, and I think they deserve their own topic. Plus, we can avoid diluting the Ko...

There are really two threads going here. Scotness, I believe it was my somewhat negative comment about Super 8 viability to which MovieMaker replied that caused that secondary discussion to start up. My apologies. We should keep this thread on topic. Some excellent questions have been posed for Koda...
