Re: NLE's, looking for opinions of current offerings

I've been pretty happy with the new Vegas Pro 10. Still makes use of all the processing power and ram you can throw at it and now it uses NVIDIA CUDA video cards to cut AVCHD codec render times big time. I'm also able to play and edit AVCHD files (quicktime files from Canon 7D, 5D and Nikon D7000) n...

Replacement motor for 16mm flicker free?

I have a Bell & Howell Filmosound 16mm projector. I have changed the light source to a diffused super bright LED and the optics are perfect but I get the flicker.

Has anyone swapped out the A/C motors in these for a DC motor? If so, what motor did you use?

Thanks,

Scott

What's up my FS peeps?

It's been about a year or more since I've had time to peruse the forum. Just wanted to say hi and I am happy to see the forum alive and well. Hopefully work will slow down enough in the next couple months so I can shoot some fun stuff with my Nikon S8 and post it up.

Free Sound Film Transfer for Example Work

We are updating our web site and want to show examples of our film transfer work but we don't have any sound film to use as an example. So, if anyone out there would like a free transfer in return for allowing us to use portions of your film as demo work on our web site let me know. I will gladly tr...

Camera That Properly Meters 500ASA?

Is there a super 8 cam that can automatically meter 500T properly? I've been scouring ebay for a camera but the closest I've found is 250.

Strange Film in Schloss Thun - What is it?

Just got back from a trip to Switzerland and Germany. I have to say you swiss and germans have some of the most beautiful mountains and towns. But why must you insist on carbonating everything?! :) Anyway, one day we took a tour of the Schloss Thun and on one floor was a box of old film and a projec...

Bolex H16 Loop Question

A while back I shot some 100D in my H16 and it came back all blurry. I was told it lost the loop. I am about to shoot a new roll and I made sure there was a loop on both sides of the gate. My question is, does it matter if one loop is bigger than the other? Or is it more important that there is slac...

Re: NY Mets Spring Training Super 8mm

I am not trying to be rude, but what makes your return shipping cost $12? It's not rude at all, it's a releavant question. Although it was only $10 ;) The web page is a bit outdated and our shipping policies are changing. However, the shipping is based on the USPS Flat Rate Box. If we can fit it in...

Re: NY Mets Spring Training Super 8mm

Just noticed I typoed E64 as E65! Perhaps a new name for deliberately overexpose E64 if it hasn't already been taken!! It was the lack of grain that I noticed. If you'd asked me what filmstock it was I'd have said, "It looks like E64 but it's not grainy enough". I have a love/hate relatio...

Re: NY Mets Spring Training Super 8mm

Sure, send them over! I'm pretty particular about our transfers since we make a living off of the film we shoot. Even if you are only shooting for fun, it still deserves the same amount of attention during transfer. Just email or PM me if you have any questions.
