Super 16mm modified Krasnogorsk-3 footage

Hello again, as I promised in my previous thread ( http://www.filmshooting.com/scripts/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=21358 ), now I post the video transfer of my test roll which was a test of my modified super 16mm Krasnogorsk-3. Here is the edited version of the first indoor part where I tried to s...

Frame grabs from a super16mm modified Krasnogorsk-3

Hi guys. I recently shot a test roll with my Krasnogorsk-3 which was modified to super16mm. It was telecined to SD on MiniDV tape and then I cropped it to 2.39:1. Here are some frame grabs and in the next few days I am going to upload the video transfer of the whole roll and an edited version of the...

Re: Pro8/01 Super8 test

That was very good!
Awesome quality, the only bad thing is that the colors are a little red-magenta, but that can be easily fixed when color correcting

Anyway I very liked your footage and music suits very well :)

Re: Elmo 1000 S Macro

Thank you very much Bill! But I do know the camera works, I looked inside the camera where you put the film cartridge and I ran it to see if things are moving there and if the shutter is opening and closing properly, and the answer was yes. I was also looking to see if the aperture is closing and op...

Re: Velvia 50 Test

I still think it's not only the compression of YouTube, but anyway try uploading to Vimeo:http://www.vimeo.com/, their compression doesn't kill videos like it does on YouTube.

You can also try to capture frames from your original file and upload them.

Good luck,
Raz B.

Re: Velvia 50 Test

It's hard to criticize due to the transfer quality. The Velvia should be a beautiful stock and it's a shame we can't see it here, It must look much better when projected.
Is there any chance you will get it telecined?

Best Regards,
Raz B.

Re: Elmo 1000 S Macro

Hi again. I talked with someone about my issue and he said that the shutter degree isn't so important, but it should be around 160-180 degrees (1/54-1/48 shutter speed) since it's not a XL model and it doesn't make a big difference for negative stock anyway. I will have to use a shutter speed of 1/6...

Re: Elmo 1000 S Macro

Thank you for your answer Scot. But shooting a test roll is a problem for me since I need to send it aboard for processing and I have a very tight budget... I know some guy who has the Elmo 1012 S-XL, I think my best option is to ask him for his camera to shoot my short. He already used it so I can ...

Elmo 1000 S Macro

Hello everyone. I'm about to shoot a short film with my Elmo 1000 S Macro on Vision2 200T, but the lightmeter does not respond very well, I absolutely don't trust it. So my option is to use the manual exposure mode with an external lightmeter or SLR camera, but then the problem is the shutter speed ...

Re: DIY transfer tests on Vimeo

What player do you use, Raz? On some Windows computers Mpeg4 levels are scaled wrong, then the clip has to low contrast. It's a DirectShow problem. I used Windows Media Player. I checked also Media Player Classic (which had the same contrast) and the VLC Media Player, it had lower contrast but not ...

Re: DIY transfer tests on Vimeo

Your transfer is really great Fred!!!
I like the "1975 Super-8 Maroc Kodachrome" clip, looks stunning! and the stabilized pictures make it very pro.
(Oh, and the files I have downloaded from Vimeo work fine on my computer)

How does your units work with negatives?

Best,
Raz.

Thank you for showing this! I didn't notice it's there (as you said most people here jumps straight to the forum).

It's kind of sad watching this... but it is also very nice too see it.

Re: trailer for my short "there may be pleasure" hosted by IMDb

"This video is not available in your country."
Funny!

I guess it's only open to the US or something...
But I would love to watch your trailer once it will be open worldwide or maybe you can upload it to somewhere else? for members who live outside of the US.
