i guess my cement is okay. although i spilled half the bottle so i may as well plan on ordering some more. i just left the pressure thing on for a few minutes and it bonded just fine. i solved the issue with poor scraping by using 2 frames worth of leader to bond the two lengths and just scraping be...

yeah. i've made nice tape splices. the one i have is broken though, and my presstapes all suck since the backing usually is still on the tape after peeling. they must be from the sixties. That solves that then. As nice as it would be to have flawless professional awesome fantastic splices, I do thin...

how to splice, really, i'm at a loss

so far i'm completely unsuccessful in making a good splice. I've got a hahnel super 8 splicer. i'm trying to splice together some ektachrome from different rolls. sometimes the grinder removes the emulsion cleanly enough although i can barely tell which side is the emulsion side or not. it doesn't s...

i thought kodak was trying to phase out double-perf 16mm film. wouldn't you need that for this kind of camera?

Apparently it all expired in the late 70s/early 80s.

I probably won't even bother with the ektachrome, the auction includes 6 rolls of the agfa crap.

old old Ektachrome and also very old AGFA Moviechrome film?

Is it still possible to have these stocks processed? I'm bidding on a lot auction, the biggest thing is that the majority of them are sound film.

however, if these are difficult, expensive, or impossible to have processed, then if i'm not outbid i'll have wasted a ton of money.

as much as i love super 8, what about 16mm?

I got a super 8 camera (a technicolor brand one) from a garage sale, and eventually wanted to try it out. I started by getting a few more cameras from ebay. my current favorite is a bell & howell sound camera that i've been shooting all my footage on. it came with a few cartridges, kodachrome, o...
