I have the TRV-900 that I use with the Workprinter. It works great for everything! If I were to pinpoint a weakness, I would say that the 12X zoom could be a bit more powerful, but only for Reg8mm films since the camera needs to sit closer to the Workprinter for that format. I agree with moviesko - A Raid is a must if you want to get the best results. Once captured, then you can move the material to a removable drive caddy, or external drive to do the editing on. I would only use the raid for capture which would also allow you to format often.

Hi Roger, To my knowledge, it hasn't been modified, so it's the real deal. I just wanted to make sure that the TRV unit isn't better for transferring audio... BTW, what did you say the speed adjustment in Premiere is to restore perfect sync? 99.5%? Does that hold true for both optical/magnetic audio...

No. Not all Minidiscs have the record to mic functionality. Check out http://www.minidisc.org/ for great info. I own a Sony MZ-R700 and LOVE it. Which Workprinter are you using? Is the problem only frame movement? Have you tried contacting Roger directly? He is always available and very helpful! (24x7, or so it seems...)

I just acquired an Elmo 16-F(tc) with a 5-blade shutter. I was wondering what the appropriate DV shutter speed would be for a flicker free transfer (NTSC). There doesn't seem to be any speed control on it. Would 1/60 work?
