Re: huge quality difference between DVD seen in TV and on the PC
What you should do is take that file you have exported from final cut and drop that in compressor. Make a custom compression. I take my dvcprohd file and convert that over to a dv/dvcpro-ntsc file in a .mov wrapper with the aspect ratio set to 16:9. Compress out then take that file into dvd studio p...

Re: Ektachrome 64 jittering
This year was my most frustrating year of shooting super 8 ever. I think I shot about 12 carts. 2 being black and white stock 10 being e64t. Not a single problem with the black and white but lots of cart jams and bad jitters from the e64t

Re: Blasphemy! Question about cheap HD Cameras
Checkout the Panasonic SD-9. Alot of guys are using this as a B-cam to the HVX200 and are using it for RC Helicopter rigs. It's under 500 bucks now and produces a great image for that price. I would get the best picture you can get for the money. If you want more of a Raw look you can always do that...

Re: Best camera for long exposure time lapse?
Autom B + Fireworks = Awesome! I have done this 2 years in a row now and want to keep doing it for at least the next 10 years or so to make a super 8mm fireworks montage. I was even thinking it may make for a fun collaborative project if any people are interested we could get a cool project going of...

Re: new to super 8, please help!!!
Make sure you expose for the snow. If you are getting up there in that red zone and do not have an nd filter try shooting 36fps. You will not get as much shooting time but your results will be much better.

okay. When I move the zoom by hand with some force though it is not smooth at all. It feels like I am moving it over a geared ring.

Re: 4008 zm2
There is definitly a lot of resistance. I tested the camera with the master switch set to auto and everything works fine. Electric zoom works great and the auto exposure is working. When I set the master switch to manual I can set the exposure but the electronic zoom no longer works and when trying ...

4008 zm2
Just got this camera and was testing it out. It has the Schneider lens and I was wondering how to set it to hand controled zoom? In the manual it says to just move the main switch to manual which also controls the iris but the servo does not seem to be disengaged it has a lot of tension still if I t...

Re: Workprinter Hd Transfer experimentation
Thanks for the info. By an chance did you try slowing the transfer down to like 3fps while using the HVX? What problems did you encounter? vertical smearing? Is your Raid throgh Mac's OS software or do you have a hardware raid? Did you try the HD SDI with the HVX?

Re: eBay feedback policy change
Obviously every system has it's flaws. I think this is a step in the right direction though. There are so many great sellers on ebay and ya maybe one or two jackasses will leave them some bad feedback. When I check feedback I never base my assumption from those 1 or 2 bad feedbacks. I like to check ...
