This year was my most frustrating year of shooting super 8 ever. I think I shot about 12 carts. 2 being black and white stock 10 being e64t. Not a single problem with the black and white but lots of cart jams and bad jitters from the e64t

Checkout the Panasonic SD-9. Alot of guys are using this as a B-cam to the HVX200 and are using it for RC Helicopter rigs. It's under 500 bucks now and produces a great image for that price. Make sure you expose for the snow. If you are getting up there in that red zone and do not have an nd filter try shooting 36fps. You will not get as much shooting time but your results will be much better.

Thanks for the info. By an chance did you try slowing the transfer down to like 3fps while using the HVX? What problems did you encounter? vertical smearing? Is your Raid throgh Mac's OS software or do you have a hardware raid? Did you try the HD SDI with the HVX?

It will work. Make sure you have am external HD connected via fw400 for the capture scratch and your video files and you should be fine.
