The secret to movie financial success?

I have been a struggling writer/filmmaker for many years. I have focused so much energy on the study of camera angles, scene composition, depth of field, blocking, and the pure artistry of what the camera will portray. This has actually made me confused and unsure of myself at times. I have shot sev...

Re: Idea for a website

Frances Ford Copolla has a similar website, Zoetrope, although you can't theoretically just take someone’s script and shoot it. I posted several scripts on Zoetrope a few years ago, but I started to hear complaints by other members of plagiarism. Getting feedback on your script by other write...

Re: My Bolex is Fried

You should have just bought a $700 Canon hv20 and you would have had hours of spectacular rock steady footage.

Re: Check out my Kodachrome short film

My advice on lighting:

Don't use Kodachrome for an indoor scene.

Re: Check out my Kodachrome short film

To Roger, I just posted a list off all the problems that I encountered on a consistant basis with your Workprinters. I worked for the past year at a shop that had four of them. I just deleted the post because I wish you no bad will. I will instead say this. The issue is not if a machine is good, but...

Re: Check out my Kodachrome short film

Hmmm, One hunderd and twenty two views, and only 4 replies. I thought more people would be interested in a completed short film shot on Kodachrome, and transfered to video ( in true 16:9 none the less) by an ordinary person like most of the people on this website. But it appears that the majority of...

Check out my Kodachrome short film

Greetings, My short film "A Wasted Question" is online on Vimeo. Take a look, tell me what you think. I shot, transfered the film to video, and edited it myself. The original AVI looks great, but somewhere in the upload process my video developed some wierd scan lines? http://www.vimeo.com...

Re: Check out my Kodachrome short film

Thanks for looking. The wig was to cut the glaring light beeming off of my shaved white head. It was from a Holloween costume. I tried a hat but it made a shadow. I was going to use an original Bob Marley song, then I found a Midi version. I liked it, it sounds kind of cartoonish, I thought it added...

What kind of movie is this? Except for the clips with the girls, all the clips show 1 guy, either smoking or looking around. Is there any interaction with other people? Is there any action, any dialog? What is the storyline, I wonder?

You have a nice backyard, and that pic of the dog really made me chuckle. Thanks. But you should see the rest of it: Coi pond with 4 beautiful coi, and a nice rock waterfall filling the pond, we made a walking path around the pond out of flat river rock. It's very peaceful, a good place to think an...

"The Dead Next Door" is great. It was shot on Super 8 film in the earlie 80's and recently remastered. I bought the DVD at Tower Records. The film looks great, almost 16mm. The most interesting thing is that there is absolutely no jitter through the whole movie, the image is absolutely sta...

Ektachrome 64t

I listed the last nine rolls I have of Ektachrome 64t on EBAY. Bid on them, try them out for cheap. Check out the wide angle lens I am also selling. I used this on a canon 1014e with a step up ring.
