Mattebox
Hey what do you guys think of my mattebox
http://www.mdkfilms.com/mattebox.html
Granted its for a DVX100 but it also works with my film cameras. I build them to accomadate the weird anamorphic lens. They have 2 4x4 trays, with 1 rotating.

Telecine Super8
Would it be possible for me to telecine a super8 negative pro stock, like Kodaks 7218, myself with a workprinter? And then do the inverting in Final Cut?

I don't think its all nostalgia. Video, not even my DVX can give the same results as film. Its great getting back into super8 after a 20 year absence.

I also intend to shoot sync sound with my cam. As soon as I get the crystal installed, I thought I would just shoot on super8 use my marker and my little DV cam as my sound unit, and when the film gets telecined sync them up with Final Cut 4. Will this work?

I understand how to get shallow DOF on any cam, ie; shooting at the long end of the lens, and using NDs so that I can shoot wide open, proper lighting etc etc, but my question is how is an SLR lens going to work with the super8 frame, in regards to flange focal problems or barrel distortion and the ...

Ok. I am going to be experimenting with minolta slr lens using an adapter. Can I expect to get nice shallow depth of field or will I have the same problems that I have using my DVX?

Resolution of super8
Hey everybody, long time reader first time poster. I remember doing super8 way back in the early 80's and having a lot of fun. I have recently gotten back into it with the purcahse of a Beaulieu 4008zmII. I just read on super8mans web site that super8 has about 1200 lines of resolution, is that corr...
