Re: What are you Lomo Tank guys using for bottles for each b

I often use 2lt soft drink bottles. Just squeeze the air out, then put the lid on. You don't need to use coke, any cheap plastic drink bottle will do :) Just put them somewhere like a dark cupboard so the light won't get to them, as some chemistry is light sensitive so can't be sorted in the light f...

Re: Cameras with a self timer

The Eumig 860 PMA & 880 PMA have a self timer.
They also have the 24fps speed, interval timer, manual & auto exposure, auto b setting, macro... nice lens too.

I think the same camera was released with Bolex branding too - Bolex 680 Macrozoom I think it was called?

Re: Whats this reel with 6 splines instead of 3 all about?

It's for 1/4inch magnetic tape for reel to reel tape players/recorders. I see them a lot in the UK. Often the hole has a little insert adaptor so you can use them on older regular 8mm projectors as well as 1/4 tape and super 8. Don't know what they are called - Multi Reels? Boots the chemist used to...

Re: Canon 310XL

Mine runs without a cartridge inside it.
Double check you have the batteries in the right way around (obvious I know, but I have made this mistake before), make sure the batteries aren't dead. I've had dead ones from fresh newly opened packs.

Re: DIY Telecine camera upgrade options

It does help a lot, thank you very much Frank. It's great to hear from someone who has actually used this camera. It’s a shame the test apps debayer function only works in 8bit. Do you recall if the supplied app allows capture of numbered images sequences via the trigger (I assmue it does, bu...

Re: DIY Telecine camera upgrade options

Thanks Jeremy. I think I have it narrowed down to the cameras with the imx174 sensor. Looks like basler, point grey and the imaging source all do them. I.S. seems to be cheapest but they are not getting them in until mid 2015. So I'm looking at the point grey model. http://www.ptgrey.com/grasshopper...

DIY Telecine camera upgrade options

I'm looking at upgrading my machine vision camera and was looking for some recommendations. I'm currently using a Sony DFW SX900 that I picked up cheap on ebay and could do with something better and faster. My list of criteria are - USB3 10bit colour (uncompressed) Good dynamic range and low noise 1...

I do this all the time, as do many of my friends, and I've never heard of or noticed any issues.

Re: 7363 et all

That's what we do to print film, use 7363 as the print stock. But we use a modified (blacked out) 16mm steenbeck, bi-pack it and then print. It's really simple. I sure for super/reg 8 it would be very simple to modify a projector or some kind of viewer. A variable speed one would work well so you ca...

Re: 7363 et all

Developing it as negative is very simple if you have a spiral, as you can process it under a red safety light and see the image coming out in the developer. Once it looks developed enough, from memory the frames will be almost black on one side, stop or just wash and then fix. It's much like process...

Re: eumig 880 pma advice please

Hi Ian, I have a 860. Which is the same camera with a smaller zoom range. The exposure is manual, auto and +1 correction. The camera only reads 40/160. The timed exposure is automatic, meaning that the time the shutter is open for is set automatically by the camera. But the camera assumes that the a...

Hi All,
Good news about the film and cartridge.
Is this the newly designed cartridge?
Can't wait to see the results!

Re: single8 R25N processing (how?)

Hi, I've processed the older R25 (not R25N) with E6. If there was a black layer then it just came off in the processing. I've never had too many problems with anti-halation layers. (Maybe I've just been lucky!) It has always been removed to some extent when I have processed the film. The most I've h...

Re: Super 8 Negative Work Prints

You can make your own by simply modifying a super 8 viewer.
Or even better modify a super 8 steenbeck!
