So how would the coating on a NIZO Pro compare to the coating on a Beaulieu 4008 (assuming they both have shneider(?) glass)... and how would that compare to the glass/coating on a 1014xls?

hey, lots of higher end cameras boost that they have better optics because of the coating on the lenses. does the lens coating help to defract lens flare, sharpen the image, control color balance...? what exactly is its purpose, and what are the different types of coatings... what is better and why?...

had a similar problem. mine ran at 9, 24, 36 not at 18. took it in to a technician and he had it fixed for me. It is a pain to do yourself, because there are approx. 100 saudering(?) points to remove the electronic panel in order to be able to access the guts of the beast. good luck with it. jusetan

It was used in the film 28 days later. I shot some tests with it combined with an xl-1 and the quality was astounding. Really shallow DOF, but the xl1 still has a strange look to it... the way it deals with colors...

yes, yes i do follow the procedure described above. (sorry i'm laughing right now, 'cause i figured that was just standard procedure...)

i always adjust my viewfinder before shooting, to me that's the same as:

"always be sure to insert your s-8 cartridge in the camera before shooting or you may not get an image back."

so how would you get focus marks for if you had to pull focus then? you would not be able to focus by eye because you can't trust the viewfinder's split focus system, unless used from a crash focus (rack focus, zoom in and focus/pull back, whatever you want to call it...) explain that to me. justin ...

i see them cheep on ebay all the time too... but the difference being that the cheep ones are the 49mm thread, meant for the 514.. not the 67mm thread meant for the 1014....
