Ludacris "will shoot yo' a$$"
Saw this magazine in an airport and couldn't resist buying it for the cover. From the pictures in the article I'd guess that the gear was a stylist's props rather than Ludacris' own, but if not, he has great taste - the Canon 518 SV is "sick" :) http://www.mondofoto.com/images/forums/ludac...

I just scanned the Minolta XL-601/XL-401 manual (English) and have posted it here: http://www.mondofoto.com/manuals/minolta+xl-601+xl-401/ For reference, the Super 8 Wiki contains two repair articles for these cameras: How to adjust Minolta XL-601/XL-401 meter for E64T How to open and lubricate nois...

I'm also having some issues getting the exposure controls to function properly on a canon 1218. Could you scan the manual for me? It'd be much appreciated!! I just scanned the English manual and posted a ZIP file, there is a link from this page: http://www.mondofoto.com/manuals/canon1218.html Enjoy!

The manual exposure control is a dial on the left side of the camera. I'm looking at one now and when it is turned all the way to one end you will see the word Auto. The camera has 5 notch sensing pins so should read most any SMPTE values, assuming the 40 year old meter is accurate :) Let me know if...

13 year old filmmakers
That's me. For the record my birthday is January 7th 1994 and if anybody wants a picture they can!! I AM 13. Here is an 8mm film I made with a friend when I was 13, a long time ago. It won an Honorable Mention in the 1970 Kodak Teenage Movie Awards :) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3595566...

Here are another couple keys, I think from a Kodak and a Beaulieau. The rectangular cutout matches a spring clip that keeps the key from falling out. I think these were mostly interchangeable. I, too, have used a quarter or a piece of a credit card or a stiffly folded piece cut from a plastic bottle...

Hmmm looks like the cheat sheet on bobzero.net is gone http://www.filmshooting.com/scripts/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12258 but there are still disassembly photos here: http://www.super8.nl/english/e_frame_edu_can.htm if you figure it out, yes, please post on the Super 8 Wiki: http://super8wiki.com/index...

I have a service manual for the ST-1200 (not the HD), if you like I could scan that this weekend and release it to the 'net. I think I may have bought it on eBay years ago - it has stamps from Tobin Cinema Systems and in fact some extra hand drawn diagrams for a 7-blade 18 fps telecine shutter and a...

To the original poster - it appears you have figured out the controls but for reference here is a link to a manual: http://www.mondofoto.com/manuals/vernon808dual/ The same Sansei Koki Company mechanism is used in the Elmo 912 Dual and various Goko, Bolex, Vernon and PRO editors. I find that careful...

Have you been able to operate your camera and generate some images? Embarrassingly, no. As usual I am doing better at gathering gear than shooting film. After finding the Mekel I did get some unused 1970s Polavision cartridges cheap on eBay, and a C-mount TV lens, so really all I need now is to rig...

Definitely go for the 440. There is no substitute for cubic inches. Just as there is no substitute for square mm in the super/span/vista/8/16 debate ;)Mitch Perkins wrote:not more than 20 minutes ago, we were directed to another '79 GP just like ours, only with a 440...and it's black! I also have a Polavision version of the Mekel 300. Can't part with my power cord but I can take measurements and send you a pin-out. May not help you because my power cable is 7-pin where it enters the camera and 2 banana plugs on the other end. http://www.mondofoto.com/images/forums/mekel_300_power...
